Special mention for Greek Cinema in Karlovy Vary Film Festival
Great news for the Greek Cinema's New Wave and the participation of two films in 47th Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

Actor Yiannis Papadopoulos has won a special mention for his role in the film " Boy eating the bird's food". The film is directed by Ektoras Lygizos and it's a three days story about an Athens boy who is without a job, a girlfriend, or anything to eat. This radically intimist, Bressonesque movie is a fascinating visual puzzle about a dogged endeavor to maintain human dignity during a time of crisis.

Another young Greek director, Elena Psykou, won the first prize in the section Work in Progress for her film "Eternal Return of Antonis P." The jury, comrpised of Aerofilms’ Ivo Andrle IFP’s Amy Dotson and TrustNordisk’s Silje Nikoline Glimsdal, said: “In general, we were quite happy with the quality level of the presented projects, but one stood out above the rest. We chose the film with the most unique and clear vision of the filmmakers and we see great promise in the project. The jury is happy to support the first feature film of the director and we imagine a bright future for her. Even from the short presentation we were intrigued by the main character, his world and the film´s visual style.”
Psykou’s feature debut is about a TV preesenter who fakes his own disappearance.
